Fusion SA is wholly committed to promoting Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) and increasing black participation at all levels in the economy. We strive to ensure that we retain and attain BBBEE compliance and recently achieved a Level 5 BEE status.
We follow a BBBEE code of good practice, which is fully aligned with the Government’s Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment Act and contribute to this through:
Management control
In partnership with the University of Stellenbosch and in line with our internal BBBEE policy we have developed a management development programme to increase BBBEE employment at senior level.
Employment equity
We take the Employment Equity Act seriously and as a result, place a strong emphasis on employment equity recruitment and training. We are proud to say that 85% of our workforce are currently represented by black people.
Skills development
We promote skills development throughout our company, via the ladders of learning approach, to provide clear employment and development opportunities to uplift black people. Development programmes are aligned with NQF standards, where possible, to allow candidates to obtain formal qualifications.
Preferential Procurement
We have a BBBEE procurement policy in place, through which we conduct regular supplier audits to ensure that, where possible, we work with black-owned or BBBEE compliant companies.
Enterprise development
To further promote BBBEE, we have two enterprise development initiatives onsite, a wellness centre and car wash service. Both of these black empowerment companies are owned by black entrepreneurs and are financially supported by Fusion SA.
Socio-economic development
Committed to socio-economic development, we have established a corporate social investment policy to uplift local communities through our Fusion Heart committee. We currently support three main charity groups: HIV/AIDS (Helping Hands), Education (iKhaya le Themba) and the Environment (Animal Anti-Cruelty League).
