Since Friday, 30 March 2012, Fusion in partnership with its new Utility account has been running a charity drive to help raise money to cover the monthly running costs of the Helping Hands charity, one of Fusion’s preferred charities, based in Wellington.

On the afternoon of Friday, 20 April, the outside courtyard was the scene of much chaos and laughter as managers were literally ‘creamed’ in the name of charity.

Since Friday, 30 March, a leading UK Utilities account, in partnership with Fusion, has been running a charity drive to help raise money to cover the monthly running costs of the Helping Hands charity, one of Fusion’s preferred charities, based in Wellington.

Fusion and the UK’s leading Utilities company care, not only about their employees, but also about the communities in which they operate. Helping Hands, one of Fusion’s preferred charities based in the Carterville township of Wellington, supports children that have been affected by HIV/AIDS or foetal alcohol syndrome and have found in the Helping Hands charity a support structure to equip them with the necessary life skills to eventually take responsibility for their own  well-being.

The South African government has long mooted the country as a Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) destination, but despite this, not much has happened in this sector in recent years. This is now starting to change, as the local business landscape alters.

Fusion Outsourcing experienced tremendous growth in 2011 and is set to almost double the size of its business in South Africa over the next 24-months; resulting in a potential 600 new job opportunities.

Shortly after being accredited as a registered Further Education and Training (FET) College, Fusion has received provisional accreditation for the NQF 2 and NQF 4 skill levels, including most NQF 2 and all NQF 4 skills programmes.

The Fusion charity drive hand-over to Helping Hands took place at Wellington on Wednesday 7 December.

The long-awaited and keenly contested Fusion 2011 Excellence Awards reached its final climax this week, when 24 winners in the various categories across the business in both in both Johannesburg and Cape Town had reason to celebrate, along with their colleagues and team members.
