Halloween Buzz
Wednesday, 10 November 2010 12:33

Fusion SA’s Halloween Buzz began the week before, when a box of assorted items: refuse bags, cotton wool, paints and plastic creepy crawlies, was handed to each department and business unit and teams instructed, like Dr Frankenstein, to bring a monster to life from just these materials, although the use of newspaper and cardboard was not limited.

Judging by the creatures that emerged from these boxes, an enormous amount of creativity and teamwork went into the making of each monster.

Just before 3pm, when the worst of the day’s heat had burned away, because as we know all monsters prefer dimness or the dark, they came out from their hiding places to strut their ugly, maggot-oozing stuff on the Fusion walkway. The dashing Slimer resplendent in bling, a skeleton tormented in its coffin by creeping spiders, an axe-wielding, blood-dripping monster lurking near the fire escape. But the scariest of all, according to Fusion judges, was PlayMoreGolf’s life-size robo-monster which won the team an outing on the Mystery Ghost Bus Tour valued at R6500.

The prize of R1000 for best-dressed human monster went to Emedia, while Elize Oosthuizen, Team Leader: Building Services, was awarded second prize. Leonie Kerstein won the third prize of R500.

Buzz days form part of Fusion SA’s teambuilding programme, designed to combine creative teamwork and learning with fun group initiatives, aimed at strengthening and energizing teams within our various departments and business units.
