CAPE TOWN, South Africa – 5 October 2009
“It was an honour to win the award for the best Offshore BPO Contact Centre in the Western Cape for the second time. We have worked hard to improve and expand the business over the last year, even during the tougher economic climate, and we’re glad to see this has been recognised by the judges,” said Johann Kunz, MD of Fusion SA.
Winners at the James Bond-themed CallingtheCape awards banquet, which once again took place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, are automatically entered into the national awards in November to compete with other contact centre companies around the country.
“It is exciting to be competing to be named South Africa’s best offshore contact centre company for the second time. We won this award last year so to return as a contender again caps off another great year for Fusion SA,” said Kunz.
In total Fusion SA collected six trophies at the awards, including the top Offshore Customer Service Centre in the Western Cape, an award that the company had also won the previous year at both the regional and national level.
“This award is particularly important as customer service is one of our top priorities; to have won this for the second consecutive year underlines the importance of the customer to Fusion SA and how much we strive to improve our levels of customer service,” said Kunz.
“We were also pleased that one of our employees, Jolene Kleinhans, was named the best customer service agent of the year. Kleinhans is a valuable member of the Fusion family and we expect to see great things from her in the future.”
Kleinhans was one of three Fusion SA employees to be singled out at the awards. Chad Lloyd Abrahams won best Sales Agent of the year while Karen van der Merwe came away with the accolade of Manager of the Year.
Kunz says he was happy to see that three Fusion employees were recognised. “Staff are the backbone of any company, but especially in the BPO space. We couldn’t have won any of the awards without the hard work and dedication of our team.”
Adding to the haul of trophies on the night, Fusion also won an internal award as the top HR Service Provider for the second year.
The Calling the Cape awards are a great way for the contact centre industry to celebrate its achievements, says Kunz. “Despite the current economic downturn the BPO sector continues to provide crucial employment opportunities and it’s important that we celebrate the industry.” |
